Blog Another Day

A spy parody of James Bond films    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxuM0-hid2M

1. The challenges and tribulations of being a group assignment
·         Time constraints – Filming takes a considerable amount of time even though it only captures only a few minutes in the final edit. Organising everyone’s availabilities
·         Meeting up was a challenge. We had to film in two separate occasions to fit our busy schedules.

2.                        The process of creating the video
·         Our theme for the video is a satirical representation of the methodologies involved in the creation of our blog.
·         We’ve drawn inspiration from spy movies such as James Bond, Kim Possible, and Danger 5.
·         We filmed it on campus and on a dormitory.
·         We used a software film editor to cut the desired the scenes in order. Sony Vegas was used as one of the members was more familiar with this particular program.
·         Some sound effects were added in an audio track to add a ‘spy feel’ to it.
·         We used voice over sound clips to add humour. ‘Simlish’ conversations from the game The Sims was incorporated in our film.
·         To add more of a spy feel to it, we used fonts and colours that resembles vintage spy films.
·         We also added some clips to help emphasise the satirical nature of our video.
·         It was uploaded into the blog with a link to Youtube.

3. How does the video relate to your blog?
·         It relates to the methodology of the creation of our blog.
·         It describes how we selected and communicated to each other on movies that were blogged about.
·         When we saw an interesting video/movie, we would contact one another to see which one was going to do the blog.
·         We wanted to document this in our film.
·         We incorporated some of the films that we blogged about as an inspiration for our video’s theme.
·         From the movies we blogged about, we selected a few that we decided to make a parody of.

2012

I have watched "2012" in 2009. I like this movie a lot and I decided to watch this movie again a few days ago. This year is 2012 and as I read some information about Maya calendar there gonna be something happen this year 0_0!. The world is being destroyed and maybe there is the end of the world day if we do not protect our earth. Anyway, this movie is one of movies that I like the best. ^^!
"Dr. Adrian Helmsley, part of a worldwide geophysical team investigating the effect on the earth of radiation from unprecedented solar storms, learns that the earth's core is heating up. He warns U.S. President Thomas Wilson that the crust of the earth is becoming unstable and that without proper preparations for saving a fraction of the world's population, the entire race is doomed. Meanwhile, writer Jackson Curtis stumbles on the same information. While the world's leaders race to build "arks" to escape the impending cataclysm, Curtis struggles to find a way to save his family. Meanwhile, volcanic eruptions and earthquakes of unprecedented strength wreak havoc around the world.
Geophysicist Adrian Helmsley officially visits India's Dr. Satnam Tsurutani, his pretty wife, Aparna, and their son. From thence, he is led to the world's deepest copper mine, where he finds evidence that the Earth's crust is heating up faster than expected. He quickly collects evidence, and presents it before the President of the United States. Expecting the news to hit leading media, he is instead stunned when he learns that the powers-that-be have no intention of publicizing this catastrophe, and are intent on saving wealthy families that can shell out a billion Euros per family on four mammoth arks - without realizing that if the Earth is indeed headed for the prophetic self-destruction on 21 December 2012 - how can arks and it's wealthy inhabitants survive?
Several years before, geologist Adrian Helmsley comes across information that shows the world will come to an end in 2012. No announcement is made but the G8 countries begin to prepare for the event. Jack Curtis is a divorced and a less than successful writer. While on a camping trip with his children in Yosemite, he meets Charlie Frost, who is preaching that the end of the world is at hand. A series of events leads Curtis to believe what Frost has told him and with his family, heads for China where the industrialized countries have been working on a response to the impending disaster.

When the geologist Dr. Adrian Helmsley and his team discover that the core of Earth is heating due to solar radiation, he advises the North American President about his findings. The American Govern collects money from the worldwide leaders to build arks to save them with necessary people to rebuild civilization. Meanwhile, the unsuccessful writer Jackson Curtis discloses that the world is near to end and tries to save his son and his daughter from the tragic end."

Mission impossible 4: Ghost protocol

I have been watching all "Mission impossible" movies. I love these action movies and the newest part is "Mission impossible: ghost protocol" in 2011. This is such a fascinating movie that attract you until the end. Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, IMF operative Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates "Ghost Protocol". Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency's name and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know.

The vow (2012 film)

The vow is a very nice romantic movie directed by Michael Sucsy. The film is based on the true story of Kim and Krickitt Carpenter. A car accident puts Paige (McAdams) in a coma, and when she wakes up with severe memory loss. She remember the time before she get married when she still stay with her family and study in a law university. A lot of things have changed her life after that time but she forgot everything after she leaves her family. She doesn't remember the life span with her husband (Leo). Her husband Leo (Tatum) has to do everything to win her heart again. I love the way both Paige and Leo act in this movie. It's so natural, so true.

Danger 5

From its style, clay models, acting, and cinematography, you might think that this is a classical spy thriller from the 60's. In fact, this show was aired in 2012 and made here in Australia. One word to describe the show? OMGWTFBBQ!

This show is messed up, and I mean in a good way(if you appreciate the humour). This is so random that you wouldn't expect what is coming next.

I really believe that  the writers wrote this show when they are high. They have to be, because no one would come up with these really wacked up ideas out of thin air. It is even funnier when the audience watch this when theyre high as well. This is the real motion equivalent of robot chicken, only that this is heaps better.

It is one of those shows that is so meaningless that will leave you with the though of "dafuq did i just watch here?"

For starters, during the first episdoe you would witness: a team that has a commanding colonel who is half man half eagle, the eiffel tower being towed away by enemy blimps, a cigarette loaded into a pistol to be used for smoking,  an enemy military dog that speaks, and a robotic dog that speaks as well that is ordered by the good guys to  seduce the other military dog by activating its "sexy bitch mode". You might ask wtf did i just write there, but i said the same thing when i first watched it. It is so surreal that it is so funny.

This show deserves to be a cult classic. This would  not be a mainstream show because this is just too random for "normal" people to appreciate, but it does not try to be. It is unique and I appreciate that.  This show proves that you can intentionally have bad effects, acting, cinematography, and story to have a hillarous time given that if it is properly delivered. This show delivers in a unique what-in-faq's-name did-I-just-watch-here sort of way.

However, it was such a shame that the series lasted only a few episodes. But I guess that each episode is a masterpiece that should not be mass produced. (SPOILER ALERT) At the end of the series, it was revealed that this show has a possible extension fast forwarded to the 80's. I can't wait to see what kind of weed-supplemented ideas they are cooking up right now.

New Girl

Its quirky, funny and enjoyable, all thanks to one new girl.

The series centre a new girl moving into an apartment full of guys.  Zooey Deschanel' portrayal of the main character is the main highlight of the show. Her ability to make any awkward moment funny is remarkable. Her quirkiness, innocence - and at times- naivety, fits perfectly to the comedic character she is playing. Did I also mention she is cute?

Without her talents, I would not think that the show would be as good as it is. That being said, this show is definitely a feel good series that will leave you with light laughs every time.

Couples ( Korean movie )

I think Hollywood movies are so popular and all you guys have seen a lot but I want to recommend movies from other countries. Before I wrote a blog about Thailand movie called Fabulous 30 and today I want to recommend a Korean movie named Couples. I would say I love it so much. I have laughed a lot because of chains of surprise situations that I can not imagine they can connect to each other logically like that. That's a movie you should watch if you like comedy.
"Yoo-Suk (Ju-hyuk Kim) looks for a girlfriend who disappeared. Ae-Yeon (Yun-ji Lee) has a fake diamond which her ex-boyfriend gave to her. Ae-Yeon was dumped by her ex boyfriend. Byung-Chan (Kong Hyung-Jin) does not believe in love. Bok-Nam friend of Yoo-Suk (Oh Jung-Se)is in love with a Yoo-Suk’s girlfriend. Their relationships are so complex but then all situations connect with each other bring to you a lot of fun."

The brilliance of James Dean in 'East of Eden'

With my obsession of the era that is the 50s, which provided me knowledge an abundance of films that to my opinion surpass the quality of much of the 'crap' (excuse my language)  that is available to us today. As I slowly encompassed myself in the decade that I dreamed of growing up in.

I found one movie that; to my opinion is one the greatest movies that came out of 1950s. With its strong compelling plot line that always keeps you drawn to the screen and its perfectly suited characters that created a whole new benchmark to acting, made East of Eden a movie that is a must see.

Especially, because this is the movie that help bring and create the legend that is James Dean. His performance in East of Eden is one of the most memorable performances that I have ever witnessed, which to me is on par if not greater than todays academy  award winning actors.

I don't want to keep you all any longer, as I would assume you all would be finding a means of seeing this marvellous movie. I strongly recommend it.

PEACE!

The Hunger Games

I have just watched The Hunger Games. I love this movie so much.
The Hunger Games content is about Sci-fi set in a post-apocalyptic America that sees a young woman (Jennifer Lawrence) being drafted into the 'Hunger Games', a brutal, fight-to-the-death, reality TV show. Based on Suzanne Collins' young adult novels, from the director of Pleasantville. In the face of drought, fire and famine America has crumbled and been replaced by the Capitol, a regime that controls the country with brutal force. Each year, two residents from twelve districts are selected and forced to compete in 'The Hunger Games': a televised, to-the-death event which all citizens are forced to watch. When Katniss Everdeen's (Lawrence) younger sister is "selected" to participate, Katniss volunteers to take her place, pitting herself against bigger, stronger competitors. The film is adapted from the first book in Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games trilogy. It was recently confirmed that book two, Catching Fire, is also getting the big-screen treatment.

Cha Tae Hyun and his movies

I have watch all movies that Cha Tae Hyun has acted. I can see that Cha Tae Hyun's characters is different in each of these movies. Contents of these movies are so great and I always realize something after watching them. His movies are My sassy girl, Hello ghost, Speed scandal, Champ, Babo.

I especially like Hello Ghost. This movie make me laugh a lot and then burst into tears at last. The message I can realize from the movie is that life is always beautiful even when we have to cope with a lot of difficult but we can change for a better life. Our family and ancestors are always around us to take care and to protect us.

Cruel Intentions - The movie with contentious characters

I was told to watch Cruel Intentions by one of my friends today, she told me about its cult following and how its full of these forgotten 90s superstars. As I was watching the attempts of acting by some of the cast, it occurred to me that I was willingly watching a movie that was taking the many irreplaceable minutes of my life. How I managed to get through to the end still baffles me. It must of been the amusing fact that the story line was unimaginably predictable and that I owed it to myself, I guess, to see if my predictions were correct. This movie is tailored for people who obsess about the wealth and freedom of the 1%.

PEACE!
